Finally I am able to weigh myself after traveling.  I only lost 4 lbs over a 3 week period which isn't that much weight considering a raw food diet eating green smoothies.

The differences in how I ate while traveling compared to how I ate while at home was fairly different.  The foods I ate were more dense, like onion bread, nut and fruit bars that I made in the dehydrator, and small bites of carrot cake.

When I traveled to San Francisco, I couldn't resist eating sushi – though it's raw, it's not vegan and the rice is cooked.  I have a serious weakness for sushi with raw tuna and salmon.  Though I didn't eat completely raw, I'd say I was about 75% raw and 25% cooked.  I also ate quite a bit of sunflower seeds which aren't bad for you, but just higher in fat which most likely also contributed to a slower weight loss.

Though I didn't lose as much weight as I would like, I'm happy to have still lost weight.  Part of my challenge was the temptations around me of foods that I really like that aren't 100% raw or 100% vegan.  I still miss some of the cooked foods – and they still taste good; however I can't say that I felt as good as I did when I was eating more raw and less dense foods.  For instance, I didn't always drink the 64 ounces of green smoothie each day – which interestingly, when I was drinking the full 64 ounces of green smoothie – I had no cravings.  Does this mean that I would have no cravings at all even with the temptations of other foods if I had drank the full 64 ounces?  I'm not 100% sure right now since eating raw food is still fairly new; so I'm sure as I continue on this path, I'll learn more about what my triggers are and how to curb them.

Remember, the idea is to not only lose weight but to increase my health and get rid of health issues.  If eating 90% raw and 10% raw accomplishes this goal, than I'll eat 90/10, but if it requires 100% raw than I will do that.  At this point, this ratio is unknown.

Starting weight:  227 lbs and 47% body fat
Week 1 – Lost 10 lbs and 2% body fat
Week 2 – Lost 1 lb and 1 % body fat
Week 3- Lost 4 lbs and 0% body fat
Week 4 – No data while traveling and without a scale
Week 5 – No data while traveling and without a scale
Week 6 – Lost 4 lbs and 1% body fat
Current weight:  208 and 43% body fat 
Total Weight Loss:  20 lbs and 4% body fat
