Today was weigh-in day for the 2nd week of the green smoothie and raw food challenge. I wasn't exactly sure what to expect when I stepped on the scale, because I had eaten differently this week than the first week.

During the first week I ate only 64 ounces of green smoothies and some sort of vegetable salad or piece of fruit throughout the day. This last week, I found so many amazing raw food recipes that I just had to try them out. I did ration my portions though and tried not to over eat, especially since some of the recipes were fantastic like the Raw Cacao Superfood Coconut Balls.

I still drank the green smoothies each day, but my snacking was more dense raw foods.  The final result was that I lost 1 lb this week and 1% body fat.  Last week I lost 10 lbs and 2% body fat, but of course this could also be because it was the first week and you tend to lose more weight the first week.

Eating raw foods that were more dense during the 2nd week of the raw food challenge was satisfying and fun even though I only lost 1 lb; however I felt completely satisified and didn't miss cooked foods.  I actually felt like I was cheating with eating Raw Cacao Superfood Coconut Balls.  Seriously, these little chocolate balls of goodness were so yummy and full of flavor that you would never know you were eating raw food.

The grand total weight loss during the raw food and green smoothie challenge is 11 lbs and 3% body fat in 2 weeks.  YEAH!

This week, I will be going back to eating like I did the first week; though I am making flax seed crackers and kale chips.  I couldn't pass these up.  I also am making fresh pico de gallo salsa that I will eat with fresh raw zucchini and squash cut into thin chip-like rounds and also dipping with celery as well.

Starting weight: 227 lbs and 47% body fat
Week 1 – Lost 10 lbs and 2% body fat
Week 2 – Lost 1 lb and 1 % body fat
Current weight: 216 and 44% body fat
