If I could improve anything about my eating, it would be the green smoothies. I can't seem to get them tasting as good as I used to. I keep playing around with the recipe and then fowl it up. Didn't I just say a couple of days ago that I was going to stick to the recipes??

I think I did!

Today, I added fresh ginger and well, it tasted a little zingy. Is that a word? Well, the green smoothie had a kick to it. It was an interesting flavor combination to say the least. Again, note to self: STICK WITH RECIPES.

I did however stick to a beautiful Italian dinner recipe for a raw Sun-Dried Tomato Marinara poured over freshly spiraled zucchini pasta. The flavor was bursting and tasted better than any cooked pasta sauce I've ever eaten. The recipe came from Ani's Raw Food Kitchen uncook book by Ani Phyo.

I spiralized the zucchini with a spiral vegetable slicer to look just like pasta noodles than whipped up the Sun-Dried Tomato Marinara and poured over the top, added some tomatoes and basil for garnishment. I was in heaven eating this flavorful raw pasta dinner. I can't wait to have it again.

The last couple of days have been really simple to stay on track with eating raw and drinking the green smoothies. My hunger level has dropped drastically. I feel like sometimes I have to force myself to eat, because I don't think I'm eating enough. For instance today, all I've had is 2 bottles (about 32 oz) of green smoothie (out of 4 bottles), 1 cup raw corn chowder soup, 1 tangerine, 2 Raw Cacao Superfood Almond Balls. I feel satisfied; not full, not hungry. I also was really busy cleaning the whole apartment and organizing kitchen cabinets. I didn't even think about eating. Wow, a first for me. I typically would constantly think about what the next meal will be, but honestly, eating raw and preparing it has been so simple. I don't cook anything so it cuts down on preparing foods and then of course the cook time. It's definitely a plus to raw food uncooking.

So, I wanted to share a couple of physical effects from raw food eating. In the past, my face was very dry from the seborrheic dermatitius; however now I noticed that my skin feels more smooth and my nose even had a little bit of oil on it the other day. I haven't felt oil on my skin in 15 years before the seborrheic dermatitius started. This is just amazing that my skin is clearing up and becoming more healthy looking. The second effect from eating a raw food diet is that I am sleeping through the night without waking up. This is unheard of for me. I usually have to go pee 4 times a night. My nails also seem to be so longer quicker and they appear whiter too.

Lastly, this weekend my cousins will be in town and we're going to the symphony and dinner. This will be a challenge I haven't experience since eating raw. I checked the menu for the restaurant we're eating at and they do have a decent salad. If I bring my own dressing, than I should be safe. I'll let you know the outcome of my experience later.
