Jared Leto Loses Weight on Raw Food Diet
After gaining over 60 lbs for a movie, Jared Leto – a vegetarian – began a structured raw food diet to shed the pounds back to his original weight.

Angela Stokes began losing weight on a raw food diet after a friend gave her a book about maintaining a lifestyle of eating primarily raw food. Within two years she lost 160 lbs – down from 300 lbs at her heaviest weight.
In a CNN interview with Stokes, she says, “I was 300 pounds, very unwell, very miserable,” recalls Stokes. “I ate junk food all the time. I was very closed down emotionally. I had no interest in dieting; I just wanted to eat all the time … that was like my comfort in life.” At this point, Stokes was very serious about changing her eating – she was still so young, but had not energy, and felt depressed.
The next day, she went cold turkey and began eating 100% raw food. No meat, dairy, sugar, or fish. Though this isn't always the best way to go raw since it can actually make you very sick when your body try to expel the toxins – Angela persisted and moved through the pain and stayed 100% raw. This is no easy task when all you've known in your life is cooking food, but she was diligent and determined after feeling the amazing effects of eating raw food.
Philip McCluskey lost an astonishing amount of weight – over 215 lbs – by eating a 100% raw food diet. I'm still astonished to see his transformation and how courageous he was to stick with the process of ridding himself of food addiction through eating only raw food.
Many people may not know nor understand this – but eating raw food transforms you and makes you take a hard look at how you've been living and also using food. I suppose it's the “getting back to nature” and really putting good foods in your body that it craves rather than a bunch of junk that takes over your organs and mind. When you eat junk, processed foods, and chemical laden foods – your body changes by becoming lethargic, overweight, under weight, high blood pressure, diabetes, memory loss, premature aging, and more health related issues. McCluskey frequently speaks of his transformation in books, his website, and speaking engagements and how he was able to overcome his food addiction.
McCluskey went 100% raw in 2006, lost over 215 lbs and has successfully maintained his weight loss and healthy eating habits!
