Happy dance! Happy dance!
I'm below 200 lbs!
Ahhh…..sweet success feels so good.
I made it just by the skin of my teeth – where did that phrase even come from (didn't know our teeth had skin but this phrase gets used a lot) – by 2 ounces.
I don't even care that it's 2 ounces – it still has only a “1” in front of it and that makes me happy!!!!
This truly made my week! Admittedly, I was a little stressed out thinking I wasn't going to make it. Yesterday I even woke up all crabby and pissy which is unlike me.
I had to have a little self talk in the car on the way to work. It went something like this:
Inner Skinny Chick: “Now look here missy – you need to get yourself together.”
Amber: “I don't know why I'm so crabby this morning except that I just really want that scale to be under 200 lbs tomorrow morning.”
Inner Skinny Chick: “Does it really matter what the scale says? You know you'll get there eventually. Relax. Breathe. Stressing yourself out and worrying will not help you. In fact it will inhibit your weight loss.”
Amber: “I know, I know. (whining a bit here) I just want to reach that mini goal on Saturday and I know that it will happen eventually, but I want eventually to happen NOW.”
Inner Skinny Chick: “If it doesn't happen now – then how will you feel?”
Amber: “Pissed off and depressed that I'll have to wait another week to meet that goal.”
Inner Skinny Chick: “How would you feel if you met your goal on Saturday?”
Amber: “Excited and doing the happy dance!”
Inner Skinny Chick: “Hold on to that feeling, let your worrying go – you'll get there either this Saturday or next Saturday. Either way, you'll get there. Again – breath, relax. Enjoy the journey.”
Okay, so she was right – I needed to let go, because I was really wound up.
I did. I felt better and let it go.
But I am doing the happy dance today!
