It's hard to believe I've been on the Ideal Protein Diet for 28 weeks now!  It seems like only a short time has passed since I started on the program.

Has it been difficult at times?


Do I sometimes think about how I wish I were done and could eat “normally” again?

Definitely – but rarely.  I just don't let myself go there or my inner chubby chick will interrupt and tell me what a great idea it would be to take a break.  She knows me well – yet I'm beginning to know her even better with her wily ways.

Since starting the Ideal Protein Diet, I haven't really hit a plateau.  There was a week, about a month or so ago, where I thought I might be hitting a plateau – but I didn't.  Not one plateau since starting the Ideal Protein Diet.

In fact, since I'm below 200 now, it seems like the weight is just flying off.  A figment of my imagination I presume since the average weight loss is about the same – 2.5 lbs per week.

Maybe it's just me settling into the Ideal Protein Diet plan more and it's just effortless now – second nature. It truly has been one of the easiest programs I've ever been on – mainly I think because of ketosis which causes me to not be hungry 24/7.

I have backed off of exercising more, like the cycling, and walking too much.  Seems to be working!

So, I've lost 70 lbs now!  Can you believe it?

I'm utterly shocked that I've lost that much weight in 28 weeks.  I seriously have to do a double take when I walk by the mirror and see myself.  I still don't realize it's me until the second glance.

My skin is getting looser since the fat is melting, but so far seems to be hugging the fat still.  I was hoping it would bounce back nicely, but with all of the ups and downs over the years and my age – I'm not sure if that will happen.

My fat mass weighed 136 lbs when I first started and now it weights 73.9 lbs!  Incredible!

Here's another “check this out” – inches lost:

Arm – 4.25 in EACH arm!

Chest – 8 inches

Waist – 8.75 inches

Stomach – 10 inches

Hips – 11.25 inches

Thigh – 8 inches in EACH thigh!!!  Wha??  Crazy!

Calves – 3.75 inches in EACH calf

Here's some perspective – I took a 16 oz Starbucks cup – cuz that was the first thing I saw that was rounded and looks like a thigh (well not really like a thigh) – and it measured almost 8 inches around the top part of the cup!  I've lost a 16 oz width of a Starbucks cup off of each thigh!!!!!


Main goal to get to 124 lbs.  My cycle chick has MADE it past the half way mark!!!!!!!!  Woo Hoo!

Week 28 Weight Loss Weigh-In Results on Ideal Protein Diet

  • Weight Loss for the week:  -2.6 lbs
  • Inches Lost for the week:  -2.25 inches
  • Total Weight Loss in 28 weeks:  -70 lbs
  • Total Inches Lost in 28 weeks:  -71.25 inches

More interesting weight loss weigh-in stats:

  • Dropped from 52.9% body fat to 39.5%
  • Fat mass dropped from 136 lbs of fat to 73.9 lbs of fat!  INCREDIBLE!!!!
  • My metabolic age is still 56 (I'm only 41 as of today) which is what I started at.  Still scary!
  • BMI has dropped from 45.6 to 33.2.
