Well I'm certainly not doing the happy dance this weigh-in.  I didn't even want to post – but since my goal was to be more vulnerable this year – I need to post the bad along with all the good.  Though it's not “bad bad” just not in the right direction.

Let me just spill the beans now……

I had an interesting weigh-in on Saturday. I've gained 1.2 lbs, but I lost 4 lbs of fat, gained 5.2 lbs of muscle, and my TBW% went up 1.7%. Hmmm..

I'm a bit at a loss. I didn't work out this last week at all so I doubt I've actually gained 5.2 lbs of muscle.  The only thing I can think of is that I was playing around with other protein powders and almond milk.  That's the only thing I've changed, but I was super careful to make sure everything was low glycemic and within the unrestricted range.

Also, I was having TOM last week, but Saturday morning I woke up and had major pains symptoms of starting my period again.

I'm sure my hormones are all confused right now with the fat loss releasing extra hormones into my body.

Oh well. I suppose next week's weigh in will be interesting as well. I did about 30 minutes of Zumba today. I was concerned that maybe I was hitting a plateau.

The best way I know to get myself out of a plateau is to confuse my body even more and do something different. So this morning I ate 3 packets of food, about 1.5 hours apart from each other, did the Zumba for 30 minutes, and now I'm drinking a chocolate protein shake. I know this isn't an IP approved protocol, but I know how my body works too so I'm thinking it could do the trick. We'll see.

By no means am I saying I'm in a plateau, but gaining could mean I'm about to hit a plateau so I'm trying to confuse it before it starts. 🙂 My theory anyways.

Week 22 Weigh-In Results on Ideal Protein Diet

  • Weight Loss for the week:  +1.4 lbs
  • Inches Lost for the week:  -1 inches
  • Total Weight Loss in 22 weeks:  -56 lbs
  • Total Inches Lost in 22 weeks:  -57.5 inches

More interesting weight loss stats:

  • Dropped from 52.9% body fat to 41%
  • Fat mass dropped from 136 lbs of fat to 82.5 lbs of fat!
  • My metabolic age is still 56 (I'm only 41 as of today) which is what I started at.  Still scary!
  • BMI has dropped from 45.6 to 35.6.
