Today was my first day of Phase 3 Big Breakfast on the Ideal Protein Diet.
I have to admit, I was so looking forward to this moment!!! I mean adding complex carbs like fruit, dairy and grains seems so sensual to me and an absolute treat! Funny how when you are in the throws of eating like crap you don't think about fruit and grains as being a treat. How times have changed! (more…)
This last week I took a little trip and had to fly on an airplane for the first time since I started Ideal Protein on 11/27/12. I had a huge non scale victory!
Why is this significant?
Well, before I started IP I had three things happen that propelled me into deciding I was going to lose weight once and for all. (more…)
I'm starting a 30 day no cheat challenge on 9/8/13 – so if you want to join comment below and let me know you're in.
There is no accountability except to yourself and that's what matters the most!
No matter what diet or eating program you are on – there are foods you are staying away from that keep you from losing weight. Those would be the cheat foods. (more…)
Here I am again writing about how I haven't lost much weight again this week. Really gets frustrating!
Only lost .2 lbs this week.
Makes me want to jump of this band wagon and move on to P90X which will definitely help me get off those last lbs. 30 more lbs left to lose. (more…)
It was such a beautiful day outside, though the wind was kicking up a bit. I decided to head out for a bicycle ride – leaving Lily at home this time so I could get some mileage in rather than pulling her trailer.
I was able to ride for 23 miles and burned a whopping 1,332 calories! (more…)
Well I didn't make my goal this week of being under 170 lbs, but I still lost weight – albeit only .4 lbs, but hey – it's moving in the right direction!
I'm headed out for a bike ride today for a couple of hours and I'm finally able to fit in my bicycling shirt without my rolls spilling over. (more…)
Lots of exciting news today!!!! It's week 38 and the summer months are slowly coming to an end. Thankfully I've been able to stay on program without cheating and getting through a 4 week plateau. It's tried my patience, I've been tempted, and frustrated, but at the end of the day I realize it's part of the journey. (more…)
I've decided to stick with Ideal Protein instead of transitioning to the Atkins Diet for mainly one reason.
In the past I would start on a diet and then think I could change it up into something new and keep losing weight and then I would just royally mess the whole thing up. (more…)
You may – or may not – have noticed that I didn't post Week 34 and 35 weight loss results and skipped right to Week 36. Well, I was in a bit of a funk with my plateau. I should have posted even during the plateau, but I just was feeling up to it.
So here I am at Week 36. Can't believe that I've been doing this for 36 weeks now. (more…)
Okay, so I'm at Whole Foods during my lunch shopping for some groceries. I picked out this head of kale and when I turned around for a bag, this man was starring at me, opened a new bag for me and held it so I could drop my kale inside.
I was a little caught off guard and thanked him.
He said, “That's a beautiful bouquet of kale.” (more…)
I've not lost 80.5 lbs and met another mini goal of losing 20 more lbs. I was getting a charm on my Pandora necklace for every 20 lbs, but decided to get a tattoo this time.
The tattoo simply states “i am”. (more…)
I've officially decided to move on over to the Atkins Diet with a hybrid of IP. It's essentially the same diet, just eating my own foods. I'll stay away from processed foods and eat whole foods.
This came about from another visit to my doctor yesterday. Nothing is wrong with IP and I could probably stay on it for the remaining 40 lbs I need to lose, but my body isn't used to the packaged foods and I'm not getting enough nutrients even with taking extra supplements. My hair is still falling out, (more…)
Well – this is going to be one of those weeks where I tell you how my weight loss has plateaued. I've only lost 5 lbs in the last 4 weeks – half of my normal loss. I could be upset – but I'm not – I'm actually thankful that this is the first time I've really plateaued since losing almost 80 lbs. It's actually pretty incredible!
So – to get myself out of the plateau I needed to change it up. Some diets call for a cheat meal or day once a week, but I'm not willing to cheat so instead I went out and ran two days in a row and ate an extra 2-3 small meals each day. (more…)
Lily and I did a 4k walk on 4th of July for the Seattle Humane Society! I can't tell you how amazing it feels to start participating in activities like this now that I've lost weight and can move much better.
It feels really good! (more…)
I had a tearful moment this last week. It was tears of joy. I desperately needed clothes and I own one shorts, one capri pants (that are falling off of my hips…speaking of hips I can see my hip bone now when I lay down…lol) and needed just a few shorts for the summer.
So at the store today I tried on a size 12 for grins and it fit…all of the size 12s fit!!! I was shocked and couldn't believe it. (more…)
