My friends – about a month ago I wrote a post, My Evolution of Dieting, Falling, and Getting Back Up, but little did I know how literal I was when I said I was falling and getting back up.
Within a week of writing that post I was taken to the emergency room and diagnosed with vertigo. It was the worst experience of my life. My entire world was spinning.
I threw up for two days and the meds of AntiVert, also called Meclizine, and anti-nausea meds did nothing to help ease my suffering of spinning and nausea. (more…)

Here I am, writing another post about how long it's been since I've written “another post”.
My blog has always been about my experience with eating, dieting, weight loss, what works for me and what doesn't. However, over the last 6 months, I haven't been sharing what's been going on in my life.
It's not because I haven't wanted to share, but more that I hit a wall again where I turn inward – everything is dark, I get depressed and angry with myself. Sharing with you would mean that I would have to face what was going on – the struggle I found myself in once again. I just wanted to numb. (more…)

As some of you might have noticed – it's been awhile since I've updated you on my progress. There's a reason for that. I slid back into my shell and quietly went back to stress eating.
I must admit that I didn't think I would be doing this again after everything I've gone through in the last year to lose weight and get healthy. I was doing so well and had really felt like I had reclaimed my life. (more…)

I had no idea what to expect when I made this Raw Strawberry Cheesecake adapted from Ani Phyo's recipe book Ani's Raw Food Desserts on page 57 “Strawberry Kream Cheezecake”. What a simple and beautiful dessert to make that you and any of your guests will just love. My guests couldn't believe that it was completely raw and that there was no cream cheese in this raw dessert. (more…)

A new chapter has begun in my journey – this quest of self-discovery to find peace and balance with my emotional eating.
It seems like I'm always fighting it, controlling it, hating it and never loving it. Yes – loving it. Is there such a thing? Is that crazy? How can you love something you hate? (more…)

Now that I've completed the Ideal Protein Diet protocol and have phased off into mainteance mode I'm ready to start the next phase.
When I phased off of Ideal Protein, I did so because I had lost so much hair from my weight loss (not necessarily because of IP) and I wanted to eat a more whole foods diet. (more…)

So you've only lost 1 lb of fat this week. I know – it's a sore subject!
We see the scale measure only 1 lb of fat loss and we freak out. Shout. Curse the scale. Throw the scale away. Step on and off the scale 10 times to see if it changes it's mind. You know you've done this last one. I'm sure I'm not the only one. (more…)

Okay, so I know most of the time I start out with some kind of blurb about how great this dish is – well – let's not break protocol – this low carb Shepherd's Pie is so tasty – if I do say so myself. It's actually now one of my favorites that I will probably make each week if not every other week.
It will also freeze well so you can make easily make a head of time and place in the freezer. (more…)

For those of you who are new to my blog – I sometimes will talk about my inner chubby chick and my Inner Skinny Chick.
My inner chubby chick is the voice inside that lies to me, tells me how ugly I am, tells me that eating that one bite of cake will be okay, she's the one that tries to sabotage me. (more…)

Day 2 of the 30 Day No Cheat Challenge!
Mini Goals! Do you have any?
If not – I highly suggest you get some. Mini goals help you feel rewarded and motivated when your end goal seems overwhelming. It doesn't matter how much you have to lose, mini goals will give you something to focus on and slowly chip away so before you know it you're at goal. (more…)

This is so worth all the lbs I've lost to look at this healthy food in a new light and love it! I mean, I even like the Greek yogurt plain with no sweetener. The berries have a natural sweetness that just goes so well with the Greek yogurt.
My taste buds have definitely changed since I haven't been eating sugar in so long! (more…)

Day 1 of the 30 Day No Cheat Challenge!
It doesn't matter what eating program you are on – you are tempted to cheat, especially when you first start.
I get asked quite a bit how I'm able to get through 41 weeks of this diet with no cheats. Here's how:
I take it one day at a time and one decision/choice at a time.
It's really that simple. (more…)

My friends, I have officially started Phase 3 of the Ideal Protein Diet.
What does this mean?
It means I'm phasing off of this diet and introducing complex carbs like berries, grains, and more dairy back into my diet. The concept is to get your pancreas adjusted to producing insulin again, but slowly since it hasn't been producing as much since I started this program on 11/27/12. (more…)

Today I started Phase 3 of the Ideal Protein diet to phase off of the diet and begin maintenance mode.
So since I had what they call a “Big Breakfast” I decided to also go big and workout to Turbo Fire and my girl Chalene Johnson! Just love her workouts – they get me all jazzed up and feeling great! (more…)
