Mocha Frappuccino Ideal Protein Style

Ideal Protein Mocha Coffee

Mocha Frappuccino Ideal Protein Style – yeah!

This was my first concoction that I fell in love with while on the Ideal Protein diet.  It’s so flavorful and chalked full of veggies.  That’s right – I did say veggies.

Stay with me now – you’ll come to love this drink too.  Chocolate, coffee, and your two cups of veggies – spinach in this case, to fulfill your 4 cups of vegetables in Phase 1.

Now a word about spinach.  It’s full of vitamins and nutrients; however the wonderful thing about it, is that raw spinach blended is masked by the taste of whatever else you blend it with.  For those who have children – it’s a great way to hide the veggies in a blended smoothie.

Okay so on to the recipe.

Mocha Frappuccino with Ideal Protein Chocolate Drink Mix

  • Ideal Protein Chocolate Drink Mix
  • 2 shots espresso
  • 4 oz water
  • 2 cups of raw spinach
  • Pinch of salt
  • Dash of cinnamon
  • Optional Walden Farms Chocolate Syrup
  • Ice

Blend in your Vita Mixer (or other high speed blender) the chocolate drink mix, espresso, and water on low speed.  Add spinach, salt, cinnamon and optional Walden Farms Chocolate Syrup and blend until completed smooth.  Add ice, blend, and pour into your favorite cup.  Enjoy!

I LOVE this drink. I have no problem having this for my lunch every single day. I use my CBTL so I get high quality espresso right from my own kitchen. I am going to experiment using the vanilla drink mix, strongly brewed chai, celery, cucumbers and maybe some mint. I am also going to try variations of this chocolate drink using celery, spinach, kale and possibly parsley and or watercress. Thanks for sharing!

I need drinks like this to get in all those veggies! However, I know espresso is coffee but 2 shots? Do I have to brew it first? Does espresso in this recipe already come in a bottle? I saw online there is espresso powder? I’m such a novice at this “espresso”. Thank you!
