Week 11 has been a week of joy.  Joy that I’ve completed 11 weeks without cheating, staying on program, and continuing this awesome feeling that I can conquer this battle once and for all.

I have a secret to some of my motivation.  I’m very numbers motivated which can be good and bad.  In the past I would get so hung up on how many months it would take me to lose weight, what age would I be, how many calories do I need to count, and so on.  It was overwhelming.

Now that I’m on Ideal Protein, I don’t have to count calories, carbs, or fat.  I don’t think about my age anymore – just working on getting this weight off in a healthy, stable way.

So my secret is that I see the goal date in sight.  I keep a spreadsheet of how much I’ve lost each week, what my average weekly weight loss is and using that number I can look out into the future to see when I can reach my goal.

Weight Loss Scale

My estimation is I’ll reach goal in 44 total weeks on 10/02/13.  I told you I was a numbers geek!  This is my secret motivation.  It keeps me focused.  If I were to cheat, or get off track with my weight loss, then my goal date would be extended, sabotaged, ruined.

As I’ve said before, I can’t handle another failure.

This is it.

No turning back.

So what does this mean?  I’ve completed 11 weeks on the Ideal Protein Diet.  It’s seriously been the easiest, most healthy diet I’ve ever been on where I’m losing mostly fat and very little muscle.  If my prediction is correct, I only have to reproduce what I’ve already done 3 more times and I’ll be at goal.

That is very doable!

Only 33 more weeks to go.

As I was saying, I’ve lost very little muscle – only 1 lb of muscle compared to 32.8 lbs of fat.  That’s pretty incredible.  My body is loving the protein and ratio of carbs, fat, and calories.

Lastly, look at my ticker – I’ve crossed the hurdle, less than 100 more lbs to go!

I found your blog through Instagram….a fellow dieter posted pictures of her version of the cookie and I followed her instructions to check you out….YOU ARE SO INSPIRING! weigh to go girl!, thanks for all the great ideas and wonderful insight. I used IP last year and lost enough weight to fit into my wedding dress, a goal I had set for myself and won. After getting married last year my husband and I stopped the program and we quickly returned to some dumb old habits. I had gained back about 20 pounds and decided that was enough and have now been back on the IP diet for 5 weeks and have lost 12 pounds so far. I am highly motivated and am pretty sure this time I will do it right the second time. I am always looking for different things to try and foods to eat and cherish those”special” recipes that I’ve found. I haven’t tried the cookie yet but plan on doing so this weekend. I have a few good recipes for you if you are interested…I tried a stuffed turkey zucchini boat tonight for dinner that was terrific! I am looking forward to travelling the same paths as you, ciao for now.

Dawn – Thank you for sharing your experience and I’m so glad you are back on track with getting back to your goal weight. Funny thing I heard today. A woman at work recently lost a lot of weight and she told me that losing weight was the easy part, maintaining was the hardest struggle for her. I couldn’t believe my ears.

I’m sure with any diet, you can return back to old habits if not careful so it takes courage to do what you’ve done and keep pursuing your goal.

I would love it if you shared your recipe for stuffed turkey zucchini…sounds yummy. I’m always looking for different recipes. Good luck!

Great job! I think you and I are a lot alike…for one, we started at almost the same time! I am very numbers oriented, which is why I think this plan is working for me. I know there is an end in sight, and I have an idea of when that will be. Cheating (to me) is so not worth it, because that one time of cheating will extend my goal at least another week. I wish you lots of luck!! You’re such an inspiration!

Juliana – Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness. Glad to see somebody else is numbers oriented as well. I totally agree with you on the cheating. I don’t want to extend the diet if I don’t have to and plus it messes with my head. I’m thinking of planning a vacation in November or December when I should be on Phase 4. That’s another motivator. Looking for a tropical climate in a swim suit. LOL!

How are you doing on IP? Keep sharing, I’d love to hear your story. Feel free to email me if you’d like as well.

Good luck and keep it up. We’ll get there!
