AmberTonight I completed 40 minutes of Qi Gong with my new dvd from Matthew Cohen called Qi Gong Fire and Water.  A couple of days ago I completed the “Water” Qi Gong which helps to relieve stress, detox, and calm.

Though I could always use some calming and distressing, I opted for “Fire” tonight.

Qi Gong Tree Pose

Fire heats and strengthens the body, activates and expands the senses, relieves depression, stimulates the immune system, and detoxifies the body.  That’s the DVD cover definition of fire.  I’d like to add that my legs were on fire.  You wouldn’t think standing or stooping one position for the length of the exercise would fatigue your muscles.  My legs were shaking!

Qi Gong 3

I definitely loved “Fire” and can’t wait to do this one again.

Qi Gong 2

Admittedly I wasn’t interested in working out when I got, but I’m committed so I did regardless of how I was feeling.  I’m glad I did, because I really felt better during the workout and afterwards.

What low impact exercises do you workout to?

That looks interesting! I’ve never tired Qi Gong – now I want to check it out. I’m in my 9th week on IP and haven’t really added any exercise (beyond working 10 hour shifts and the occasional walk around the neighborhood). Thanks for all the good ideas!

Hello Christine – Congrats on making it to week 9! Keep up the great work. I hear you about work. I’m usually so tired by the time I get home that I don’t want to do anything. I’m forcing myself at times. But once I get into, I love it. Qi Gong and Yoga both really relax me from a long day at work so it not only helps my body, but calms my mind and relieves stress. Let me know if you try it. I would love to hear your thoughts on it.
